Playa Ballenas, located at kilometer 14.5 of Boulevard Kukulcán in Cancún's Hotel Zone , is a public beach with white sand and turquoise waters, known for being quieter and more spacious than other nearby beaches. It boasts Blue Flag certification, basic amenities (restrooms, showers, palapas), and strong waves ideal for surfing.

  • Location and Access: It is located on the Caribbean Sea, between the Hard Rock Hotel and Secrets The Vine. Although it is in a hotel zone, access is public and free.

  • Atmosphere and Landscape: It is considered a quieter and less crowded gem, perfect for walking, taking photos and relaxing.

  • Waves and Safety: It has considerably strong waves, similar to those of Playa Delfines , so caution is advised and you should obey the lifeguards.

  • Amenities: It has wooden ramps, palapas, tables, and inclusive restrooms.

  • Marine Life: Between May and September, it is a site of arrival for sea turtles (White, Hawksbill, Leatherback and Loggerhead).

  • Activities: Ideal for beach sports such as volleyball and soccer.

  • It can be reached on routes 1 or 2 of the public transport in the hotel zone.

  • It is advisable to bring food and drinks, although there are options nearby.
