Ceviche Roundabout
The Ceviche Roundabout is the most iconic monument in downtown Cancun, located at the intersection of Tulum and Cobá Avenues. Its official name is "Caribbean Fantasy," and it was created by sculptor Lorraine Pinto and inaugurated in 1994. It represents marine elements such as snails, shells, and starfish.

Before this monument, the roundabout housed another fountain built to commemorate the historic North-South Summit of 1981. However, it was severely damaged by Hurricane Gilbert in 1988. Subsequently, the government organized a competition to create a work of local identity, resulting in the monument you know today .
